Benjamin J. Christianson

Benjamin "Benny" J. Christianson, age 60, of Menomonie passed away Saturday, May 4, 2024 at VitaCare Living.

He was born April 3, 1964 in Menomonie, WI to Allen and Doris (Wald) Christianson. He was raised on a farm east of Downsville where he became a farmhand for the John Klatt family farm where he met one of his best friends, Dave Klatt. After working for other area farms Ben landed a job in the logging industry in the early 80s which then became his passion. He later partnered with Marvin Larrabee and they began their business, LC Wood Products.

Ben met Kay Kiekhoefer and they married in October of 1983. Together they raised their son Ajay and built a log house that he was very proud of. They later divorced.

Along with logging Ben had many other things he loved to do. He enjoyed dirt track racing - from building them to racing and fixing them every week. You could find him pushing the limits of anything with a motor - from boats and four-wheelers to snowmobiles and dirt bikes. He loved going to tractor pulls; a past time that carried over from his youth when his dad used to take him.

Ben had a big personality and was always quick with a joke and enjoyed playing pranks, pushing the limits of his mischievous mind. He always took care of those who were important to him; from giving you a nickname to helping you with anything you needed, even if you didn't ask for help.

Ben was so proud the day he became a grandpa and enjoyed spending time with all his grandchildren. He worked hard to make his dreams come true - and he was able to fulfill every one. He was a determined, and hard working man who was dedicated to whatever he put his mind to.

Ben is survived by his son Ajay, daughter-in-law Tammy, and grandchildren Aiden, Evelyn and Margaret of Menomonie. He is further survived by his mother Doris (John) Brandt, siblings Bruce (Kelly), Brenda (Carl) Ziehlke, Bernie (Jessica) all of Menomonie, Becky (Norm) Glomski of Mequon, WI and Jessica (Jeremy) Bartels of Green Bay, WI, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Allen, step-brother Jacob Brandt and his grandparents Elmer and Mable Christianson and William and Mary Wald.

A Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Rev. Dr. Judy Kincaid officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service with a luncheon afterwards. Burial will be at Forest Center Cemetery, Town of Spring Brook, Dunn County, Wisconsin.
