Brian P. Stransky

–

Menomonie, Wisconsin

Brian P. Stransky, age 69, passed away Thursday, October 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Brian was born February 3, 1957, in Faribault, MN, to James and Audrey (Wobbrock) Stransky. He grew up in the Rosemount, MN area and graduated from Rosemount High School in 1975.

Brian married his high school sweetheart, Debra R. Kujath, on July 18, 1987, at Prince of Peace Church in Burnsville, MN. Their marriage was caring, loving, and deeply devoted—full of passion, partnership, and humor. Their time together ended far too soon when Debbie passed away on January 20, 2013, after her own hard-fought battle with multiple myeloma. She left behind Brian and their three boys, who remained the center of his world.

In time, Brian found a renewed sense of purpose when he reconnected with a longtime family friend, Vicki Doig. Brian and Vicki had known each other for over 40 years, and their friendship grew into a bond filled with comfort, companionship, and joy. Brian worked for Pepsi as a Maintenance Engineer for 37 years, and after many long road trips back and forth between Eagan, MN and Menomonie, WI, he moved to Menomonie following his retirement.

Brian and Vicki cherished their years together. They loved adventures, running, golfing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. After seven wonderful years, they decided it was time to live out their dream. They bought their dream home near Menomonie Golf and Country Club and married shortly thereafter. To them, nothing mattered more than having each other.

Brian was a man of many talents, but he’d be the first to tell you which ones truly counted: hitting a golf ball farther than whoever he was playing with, finding the coldest beer in the cooler, and driving as fast as he could from point A to point B.

On the golf course, Brian was in his element. He loved the game not just for the challenge, but for the camaraderie, the fresh air, and the chance to remind everyone—politely or not—that he was still the one to beat. If you golfed with Brian, you didn’t just get a round; you got entertainment.

Off the course, Brian enjoyed life’s simple pleasures: a good beer, a good laugh, music, and his westerns. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into memorable ones and for being the kind of person others genuinely wanted to be around. He didn’t need to be the center of attention—he just naturally became it.

He leaves behind a legacy of warmth, wit, and wholehearted living. Those who knew him will miss his laugh, his competitiveness, his charm, his familiar mannerisms, and his habit of cursing simply because it felt right in the moment. Brian was one of a kind—deeply loved, deeply missed, and impossible to forget.

Brian is survived by his wife Vicki of Menomonie, WI; his three sons Neil (Kaite) Stransky, Colin Stransky, and Steven Stransky; stepdaughter Paige (Scott) Ross and his grandchildren Mae and Charlie; and his siblings (Nancy, Jeff, Kevin, Gary, Scott).

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Audrey, and his late wife, Debra Stransky.

A celebration of life will be held at a place he loved most—Menomonie Golf and Country Club—from 1 PM to 3 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2026.
