Deloris M Douglas

Deloris “Susie” Marcene (Hintzman) Douglas, age 87, of Menomonie, WI passed away Sunday, April 8, 2018 of natural causes at The Neighbors of Dunn County, Morning Song Villa.

She was born October 10, 1930 in Menomonie, WI to Leonard Sr. and Sylvia (Shafer) Hintzman. She graduated from the Dunn County Agriculture School in 1948.

On May 20, 1949 Deloris married James Douglas. They farmed in the Town of Spring Brook from 1949 to 1986. After retiring they enjoyed spending winters in Mesa, Arizona.

Susie enjoyed playing cards with a group of treasured friends for 54 years. Playing Bingo and other activities at the Menomonie Senior Center was also a favorite past time of hers.

She entered The Neighbors of Dunn County in August, 2017. Through her time there she became friends with the great staff and told of the wonderful care that she received.

Susie is survived by her children, Shirley (Ken) Brenden and Ronald (Amy Saxton); granddaughters, Jody Douglas and Jenny (Mark) Deetz; great-grandchildren, Will and Piper Deetz; her sister Janice Beck; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband James Douglas; parents; and brother Leonard Hintzman Jr.

There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home, 615 Wilson Ave. Menomonie with Rev. Dean Brockmeier officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Senior Center, 1412 6th St. E. Menomonie, WI 54751. Burial will be in Falls City Cemetery at a later date.
