DeWayne R. Harnisch Obituary (1948

DeWayne Richard Harnisch, age 68, of Menomonie, WI died at home on Friday, December 30, 2016. He was born in Menomonie on November 10, 1948 the son of Louis and Marion (Schaefer) Harnisch. DeWayne graduated from Menomonie High School in 1966. During his senior year and the year after he worked at Richartz Implement. DeWayne married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Darlene Larson in May of 1967. They farmed together on the Charlie and Louis Harnisch family farm, in the town of Spring Brook for almost 50 years. DeWayne loved nothing better than farming with his son, Dan and grandson, Charlz. Following a hereditary heart condition surgery in 1998, DeWayne sold the dairy cattle and went to beef cattle. He loved the farm and his tractors. He pulled tractors in Menomonie for over 50 years, receiving numerous plaques and trophies through the years. DeWayne later worked at Chippewa Valley Bean Farm. Special mention of DeWayne’s best bud, Art Alf; special nephew, Mike Berg who loved the farm too; and Todd Quilling and Joel Carr who, if needed, were always there. The church family and friends meant everything to him. DeWayne will be dearly missed by his wife, Darlene; children, Jennifer (Bobby) Palabicki and Dan (Heather) Harnisch; grandchildren, Colt Hasart, Ronnie Kuusisto III, and Charlz Harnisch; brother, Lloyd (Ruth Ann) Harnisch; sisters-in-law, Virginia (John) Shaeffer and Marlene (Joe) Larson; brothers-in-law, Dennis (Peggy) Larson and Ron Bryan; also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Louis and Marion Harnisch; parents-in-law, Elton and Jean Larson; sisters, Arleen Bryan and Joyce (Doug) Holzhueter; nephew Dennis Bryan and other relatives. A Celebration of DeWayne’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, 2016 at Little Elk Creek Lutheran Church, rural Menomonie, with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
