Donald E. Flategraff

Donald E. Flategraff, age 77 of Elk Mound, Wisconsin passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his home.

He was born August 8, 1940 in Pine River, Minnesota to Oscar Flategraff and Edith L. McAninch (Flategraff, Olson). Donald grew up in Pequot Lakes and Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduating from South High School, followed by service in the U.S. Navy.

Donald married Jennifer Hurlburt May 13, 1972 in Menomonie, Wisconsin. They lived in St. Paul, Minnesota, Rockford, Minnesota, Eau Claire, Wisconsin, and Elk Mound, Wisconsin. They had two children. Donald attended Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 49 of Pequot Lakes, Minnesota. He enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, church, and family life.

Donald is survived by his wife, Jennifer, of Elk Mound, one daughter; Margaret Gooselaw of Elk Mound, one son; Andrew Flategraff of Eau Claire, father-in-law, Carl Hurlburt, aunt; Mardell (Flategraff) Nelson, many siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Donald was proceeded in death by his parents, and two of his siblings, Delores, and Merle.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound with Pastor Mary Eide officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the Forest Center Cemetery, Town of Spring Brook with military honors by the Menomonie Veteran’s honor Guard.
