Douglas C. Dyle Obituary (1944 - 2023)

Douglas Craig Dyle age 79, of Hudson, WI passed away peacefully Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Baldwin Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born September 23, 1944, in Sauk Centre, MN. Doug grew up in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1963. He enlisted in the Army September 15, 1964. He served in Germany, Paris and North Carolina as a pharmacy specialist until 1968. He served in the National Guard during the 1970’s. Doug married Joyce Johnson on May 21, 1965, in San Antionio, TX. They were married 17 years and had four daughters. They enjoyed camping and fishing with their good friends John and Mary Dahl. Doug was an avid bowler and participated in bowling leagues for many years. He was an assistant manager at Kmart in Madison, WI, Duluth, MN and Superior, WI for many years. He married Linda Anderson on March 5, 1993, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie. They enjoyed fishing and going to the movie theater. Their grandchildren were a big part of their life. During this time Doug was a screen printer and bartended on the side. Doug is survived by daughters Melissa (Scott) Doolittle, Rochelle (Jeff) Wold, Kristina (Andrew) Jatzo, and Kirsten (Ryan) Schutte. Sister Penny (Dean) Neubauer and brother Terry (Marie) Dyle. Sister-in-law Julie Comstock and brother-in-law James Larsen. He is also survived by several grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda (by only 19 days). His mother Ona Peterson, grandparents Fred and Anna Peterson, sisters Debra King and Dinah Harshman, brothers-in-law Jerome Ottinger and Wayne King. Mother-in-law Delores White, sister-in-law Connie Fox and brother-in-law Tom Lubke. Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2023, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. A light lunch will follow the service.
