Gary Stevens

Gary Charles Stevens, age 73, of Colfax, went to be with God on Friday, August 12, 2016, after a short battle with cancer.
Gary was born on March 10, 1943 to Arland and Lois (Benson) Stevens in Menomonie. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1960-1964. On April 10, 1965 Gary married Helen Hintzman. They were blessed with a daughter Tammy and later a very special son-in-law Daniel.
He lived in the Downsville and Menomonie area for most of his life. Later on Gary and his wife Helen settled in the Colfax area. He worked on road construction, at Brave Harvester and later owned and also operated his own dump truck company along with many other jobs.
Gary is survived by his wife Helen, daughter Tammy (Daniel) Luther of Barron; two grandchildren Brandon (Amy) Luther of Menomonie and Brittany (Sean) Riedell of Cameron; four great grandchildren Chaz, Dominic, Madi and Ayden, which he cherished each and every one of them very much; two sisters Darlene (Mike) Hester of Hendersonville, NC, and Diane (Gary )Leach of Downsville; one brother Danny (Deb) Stevens of Pine City, MN; two sisters-in-law Judi (Gari) Spagnoletti of Menomonie and Barb (Fred) Drinkman of Downing, as well as many nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Arland and Lois.
A gathering and celebration of Gary’s life will be held at DAV Center in Menomonie, WI on Sunday, August 21, 2016, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is assisting the family.
