Henry L. Lemon Obituary (1936 - 2023)

Henry “Hank” L. Lemon, age 86, of Boyceville, Wi passed away Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Glenhaven Nursing Home, Glenwood City, Wisconsin. He was born August 26, 1936, in Weston, Dunn County, WI to Ernest and Fern (House) Lemon. He grew up in the Menomonie area. Hank was a Dairy farmer all his life. In addition to being a dairy farmer, Hank raised sheep, chickens, pigs, and geese. His longest amount of time in the township of Hay River, Dunn County. He also worked alongside his father at Harnish Lumber in his younger years. Hank was a member of the Army National guard for 6 years (1954-1960) Company A, 1st Brigade, 128th Infantry, reaching the rank of Sargent. He was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington during the Berlin Crisis. He was a long-time member of the Northwest Rod & Gun club, serving as Treasurer and the Snow Jammers Snowmobile Club, also the treasurer for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and watching his Registered Guernsey herd and spending time with his family and friends. Hank is survived by one sister, Marie Lockwald-(John) Trent; six nieces, Bobbijo Pepper, Ann (Jeff) Stirn, Becky (Bill) Link, Kristen Christiansen, Fawn Hernandez, Danielle (Simon Young) Wick; four nephews, Danny Lemon, David (Rhonda) Lemon, Kevin Lemon, Tony (Nikki) Lemon; many great-nieces and nephews as well as his good friend Brian (Trisha) Hurt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Fern Lemon; Brothers, Earl (Judy)Lemon and Loyd Lemon; nieces, Maryann Retzloff and Sheila Retzloff; nephew, Jeremy Lemon. A Memorial Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Burial will be in Lower Weston Cemetery to follow visitation at 1:00 p.m. with military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard.
