James Jim Johnson

James "Jim" A. Johnson, age 81, of Colfax, WI died unexpectedly on Friday, June 07, 2013 at his home.

Jim was born on December 26, 1931 to Elias and Carrie (Olson) in Menomonie. He graduated from Menomonie High School. On September 21, 1959 he married Nancy Johnston and lived in the Menomonie area. On February 14, 1991 Nancy passed away. He later married Helen Metten on June 26, 1993 in Menomonie.

He farmed for a portion of his life as well as hauled milk with his brother Ted. Jim worked for 3M up until his retirement in 1994. After retirement, he drove school bus for 5 years for the Menomonie School District.

Jim was a life-long member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. He was a man of the outdoors and enjoyed many sports, most importantly he always made time to golf. Jim was an avid Packers and Brewers fan; he also liked watching the local sporting events which included softball and baseball.

He cherished his family and always looked forward to spending time with them.

Great grandchildren: Ryley Clark, Ryan Hagen, Camie Hagen, Jonah Jossart, Lee Jossard, Vida Jossart, Amelia Mulroy, Jeremiah Johnson, and Thomas Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Marty and Ted, sisters Caroline and JoAnne.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Heather Wigdahl officiating and Military Honors by the Menomonie Veteran's Honor Guard. Burial will take place in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie at a later date. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 10, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and also one hour prior to the services at the church.
