JEANNE A. JOHNSON

Jeanne A. Johnson, age 84, of Menomonie, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2009, at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Menomonie, WI.

The former Jeanne Arlene Cornwell was born July 2, 1924 in Menomonie, WI to Frank and Angie (Rassbach) Cornwell. She married Marion "Slim" Johnson on Sept. 20, 1947 in Stillwater, MN.

Jeanne and Slim resided in the Township of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI for many years. Jeanne stayed home and raised her kids and took care of her family, and also enjoyed gardening, canning and fishing on Tainter Lake. Jeanne was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie for many years.

A daughter, Carol Johnson of Corcoran, CA
A son, Leonard Johnson of Wheeler
A granddaughter, Sharilyn (Al) Kading of Menomonie
3 great-grandchildren, Brooke Frion, Brendan Frion and Isaiah Kading
A brother, George (Joyce) Cornwell of St. Paul, MN
Half sister, Shirley (Don) Bugbee of Willmar, MN
Sister-in-law, Lil Cornwell of St. Paul, MN
Also survived by other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-mother Clara; two brothers, Frank and Chuck Cornwell and a sister Lucy Cottengain.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, June 18, 2009 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville, with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery in Menomonie. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is handling arrangements.
