Jewel T."Willie" Wilson Jewel Thomas "Willie" Wilson, age 81, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at his home. He was born August 1, 1932 in Garrett Hollow, Kentucky to William and Margaret Ann Vilettie (Garrett) Wilson. Willie attended high school in Kentucky and Military Signal School. He then served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps from 1949 until his honorable discharge in 1952 in Washington, D.C., attaining the rank of Sgt. 1st Class. On October 3, 1952 Willie married Nancy Brostrom in Tipton, Indiana. After living in Elwood, Indiana for one year, they made their home in Dunn County, WI where they raised three sons. Willie was an auto mechanic for Pelto Motors from 1953 to 1957, a serviceman for Montgomery Wards and owned the Shell Station in Menomonie for five years. He then worked at the Chrysler Dealer, M & L Motor Supply, was store manager at GTC Auto Parts for eleven years, custodian at U.W. Stout, and worked at Smith Implement. He also owned Wilson Supply Co., Inc. and Willie's Auto Parts until the late 1980's when he became State of WI Lottery Rep. until retiring in 1993. Willie was a member of the Moose Lodge and the American Legion. He enjoyed playing pool and shot with the best and beat them, bowling, snowmobiling, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed CB radios and was President of the Radio Club. As lottery rep., he was on Channel 4 TV. Willie is survived by his wife Nancy, three sons all of Menomonie, Thomas (Lela) Wilson, William (Susan) Wilson and Michael (Marilyn) Wilson; his grandchildren, Bradley, Kristy, Brent, Jeannette and Jason Wilson; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Kendall, Henry, Landon, Aubrey; a brother-in-law, Charles (Margaret) Brostrom; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Garland Jackson Wilson and Julius Garrett Wilson; two sisters, Ruth Stiles and Sybil Stiles; and a great-grandson, Kevin Wilson. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Larry Borner officiating. There will be visitation from 9:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery in the Town of Dunn, Dunn Co. WI with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard.
