JoAnn M. Wilson

JoAnn Marie Wilson was born on June 28th, 1934 to Howard and Marie Richardson in the town of Staples, Minnesota. Her dad was a miner and her mom stayed home. JoAnn attended school in Crosby, Minnesota. She started working at the age of 15, first as a dishwasher and then as a car hop. She enjoyed that, as she knew many of the kids that came to the drive-in. Her wage was 50 cents per hour.
After JoAnn graduated from high school, she moved to Minneapolis, she was just 17 years old. In 1954, she married Ted Wilson. He was in the navy and they moved several times, from Rhode Island to Boston to Philadelphia and back to Minneapolis. She resided in the Minneapolis area for 50 years, moving to Menomonie, WI a year ago. JoAnn loved to sew, read, crossword puzzles and she enjoyed several trips to visit friends and family.
JoAnn had three children, Sandy (Ben), Robin (Mike), and Melody (Al) and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Dale Richardson. She is survived by her daughters and families, her brother Don (Doris) Richardson, and a sister Vera Breeden. A family graveside service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, Minnesota. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie, WI is serving the family.
