Jack R. Quilling, age 63 formerly of Menomonie, WI died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 near Baldwin. \n \n Jack was born May 12, 1951 in Menomonie, WI to John and Lillian (Krause) Quilling. He graduated from Menomonie High School and went on to get an Electricians Degree from Eau Claire Technical Institute. On October 28, 1972 he married Cynthia Burr at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. \n \n Jack gained the nickname "Crazy" for his antics and prankster pulling he did over the years. He loved the name and wore it well. He would go through the ditches of Dunn County picking up "stuff"; then wrap it and give to his family for special events, such as Christmas. He enjoyed shopping and mostly at Good Will stores. You never knew what he was going to do next. He was an active member/treasurer of Road Dogs Motorcycle Club out of Eau Claire and Bluff Siding. He would give the shirt off his back to help people which was evidenced by his rides for Am-Vets and Veterans in general. Crazy was a tractor enthusiast having farmed many years in the Menomonie area. Jack also drove truck for Cross Roads Ag/Cenex out of Elk Mound for several years. \n \n Jack's life always took second to anyone else who needed help. His main love in life was his grandchildren. He would do anything he could with the kids and grandchildren. He took his old tractor and pulled them through most all the parades in the area with them on the back. \n \n Jack was a serious NASCAR fan and Dale Earnhardt was his favorite. He also liked woodworking and remodeling furniture and everything he had was organized. \n \n He is survived by his wife, Cindy of Baldwin; three children, Cherri (Dan) Hofbauer of Hudson, Jay (Angela) Quilling of Menomonie and Shawn Quilling of Baldwin; eleven grandchildren, Jordan, Makenzie, Koltin, Jaylin, Kadin, Brooklynn, Harlee, Justice, John, Shawn Jr. and Hope; two sisters, Judy Berg Of Eau Claire and Vickie (Larry) Shepard of Menomonie; one brother, Mark (Lisa) Quilling of Menomonie; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \n \n Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lillian (Krause) Quilling. \n \n A Memorial Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2014 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Diaconal Minister Heather Kistner officiating. \n \n Viewing and Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Visitation only (No Viewing) will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Burial will follow the service at Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Menomonie.
