Joseph John La Picca Jr., age 55, of Menomonie, passed away Saturday evening, April 24, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born June 18, 1954 in the Bronx, New York to Mae Ellen Mullen and Joseph John La Picca Sr. \n Joe was a creative artist in many fields. He loved music and spent many hours playing the guitar. He has drawn and painted both privately and professionally. The majority of his Career he spent in sales. He had the personality and sweet heart that never seemed to meet a stranger, but always made a friend. He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior and was currently a member of Cedarbrook Church in Menomonie. He will be greatly missed and always remembered by family and friends. \n Joseph is survived by his step father, William Shillingburg, his siblings, Bill Provine of Conyers, GA. Lyle Phillips of Memphis, TN., Loren Phillips of Menomonie, Jo Ellen Robinson of Wausau, Gina Lehman of Menomonie, Beverly La Picca of Menomonie and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. \n Joseph was preceeded in death his father, Joseph J. La Picca, Sr, by his mother, Mae Ellen Shillingburg and sister, Evelyn Gaile Phillips. \n A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Remy Diedrich officiating. Friends may call Monday, April 26, from 4-7 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Menomonie.
