Joyce Elaine Johnson, age 86, of Menomonie, WI formerly of Dodgeville, WI died at home on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017 after a long illness. \n \n She was born June 7, 1931 near Dodgeville, WI to Melvin and Alma (Peterson) Husom and graduated from Dodgeville High School in 1948. \n \n On June 14, 1952, Joyce married Luther Johnson and celebrated with him 65+ years of marriage. \n \n Joyce loved sports and was an avid sports fan. She loved singing and was a member of her church choir for 60 years. Joyce never met another person she didn’t like and enjoyed coffee with everyone. She was a wonderful wife, and mother. \n \n Joyce is survived by her husband Luther; sons, Mark Johnson (Kay Alberg) and David (Becky) Johnson; six grandchildren and one baby great-grandchild. \n \n She will be missed by those she loved but is now at peace with the Lord. \n \n Joyce and her family would like to thank hospice for their excellent care. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, 2017 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor David Natzke officiating. There will visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. \n \n There will also be a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017 at Grace Lutheran Church in Dodgeville, WI with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.
