Judy K. Kietzer Obituary (1963 - 2023)

Judy Kae Kietzer, age 60, passed away at her home on August 24, 2023, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 29, 1963, to Ellard and Phyllis Borth in Ellendale, North Dakota. The youngest of five children, she learned at an early age how to keep everyone on their toes. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1981 and earned a nursing degree from Chippewa Valley Technical College in 1995. On September 11, 1981, she married the love of her life, Mike Kietzer, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hatchville, Wisconsin. During their 42-year marriage, they were were blessed with two children and seven beautiful grandchildren. Judy whole-heartedly loved her family and friends; spending time with them is what she cherished most. When she wasn’t cheering on her grandkids at their many sporting events, Judy enjoyed being outside gardening, golfing, camping, UTVing, sitting around a campfire, and watching a good storm roll in. Being kind and giving to a fault, Judy was always there to listen and offer the best advice. This compassion was reflected in her rewarding 30+ year nursing career. Our mom, grandma, wife and friend was our rock. She will forever be incredibly missed. Judy is survived by her husband, Mike; her children, Heather (Travis) Duncan and Dan (Janessa) Kietzer; her beloved grandkids, Treadan, Talen, Owen, Elliana, Taten, Cora and Embree; her siblings, Allen (Nancy) Borth, Peggy (Steve) Lynum, Susan Borth, and Lyall (Cindy) Borth; her siblings-in-law, Marsha (Harland) Boesh, Karen Speidel, and Carmen Kietzer; mother-in-law Betty Kietzer; uncle Jerry (Marge) Buerkle, and many other relatives and friends. Welcoming her home in heaven are her parents, Ellard and Phyllis; step-fathers, Merlin Wilbur and Lyle Kruschke; father-in-law John Kietzer; brother-in-law Tim Speidel, uncle Curt Buerkle, nephew Josh Lynum and her grandparents. A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, August 31, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Boyceville, Wisconsin from 4:30-7:00 pm. Please stop in and share happy memories and fun stories! A private service with her immediate family will take place at a separate time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests planting a tree or flower to remember Judy and her love of the outdoors.
