Karen Jean Scheel, age 73, of Menomonie WI passed away Monday May 29, 2023 after an extended illness at the Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin Wisconsin. \n \n She was born February 23, 1950 in Menomonie Wisconsin to Waldo and Maxine (Amick) Scheel. She grew up in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1969. \n \n Karen worked as a baker for many years and found great joy in baking. In later years she prepared meals and assisted her parents as their needs grew. \n \n Karen very much loved her family and was very committed to helping them in any way she could. She made amazing memories with her parents, brother and sisters and friends and extended family by being there for them. She always had time to express her love, with deeds and support. \n \n Karen believed laughter was the best medicine and was famous for cracking jokes and making people smile. \n \n She will be so missed by family and friends. \n \n Karen is survived by a brother, Danny (Sharon) Scheel of Eau Claire, WI; sisters Linda (Mike) Belden of Menomonie, WI and Ann (David) Robinson of Rice Lake, WI. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. \n \n Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Maxine Scheel of Menomonie WI. \n \n Funeral Services will be held Monday June 5, 2023 at 11 A.M. at Menomonie Alliance Church, Menomonie WI, with Pastor James Cameron presiding. \n \n A visitation will be held at 10 A.M. and lunch to follow at the Menomonie Alliance Church and private family burial to be at a future date. \n \n Memorials may be directed to the family. \n \n Olson Funeral Home and Cremation are assisting the family with arrangements.
