She moved away from her cabin on Ojaski Lake following rehab for a fractured femur in Nov 2012. \n \n Katherine was born into a Greek family on 10-15-23 in East Moline, IL. Her parents and five brothers and two sisters greeted her in heaven. \n \n Katherine married Lyle Nelson from Chetek, WI. Together they farmed, worked on cars and raised five children: Brad (Linda) Nelson, Linda (Ron) Therrien, Chrissy Nelson, Nia Nelson and Brian Nelson. Lyle died 10-14-98. Katherine was active in the lives of her children and repeatedly said, "I have the best kids in the world." Jesus became her best friend when she was six years old. She was involved in many churches, YWAM, Bible Study groups and enjoyed going to crusades. In 1999 she wrote: "I am going to heaven and I want to see all of you there. I'll be waiting for you. I know I'll see you all there and the ones who are not yet born, because the Lord promises if we pray in His will He will give us the desires of our heart and mine is that all of you know and love Jesus and are all saved and when you died you'll come to heaven and live in the mansion the Lord has built for us and we'll all be together so happy we'll never cry again! I'll be great there take my word for it. See you later – Yes!" \n \n Katherine said good bye in Greek, translated, "Go to the good my precious child." \n \n A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday February 9, 2013 at the Chetek Lutheran Church at 1p.m. A visitation will take place one hour prior to the service at the church. A light lunch and time of fellowship will follow the service. \n \n Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is assisting the family.
