Kenneth G. Batchelder, age 74, of Menomonie, WI passed away Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. \n \n He was born April 11, 1938 in the Town of Stanton, Dunn Co. WI to Lee and Vivian (Butler) Batchelder. He was raised in the Town of Menomonie, attended Beaver Creek country school and graduated from Dunn County Aggie in 1957. \n \n Ken and his brother Larry farmed in partnership for over 30 years in the Town of Menomonie. Ken later worked for other farmers in the area and then did custodial work at Lammer's Food Fest and K-Mart until retiring. \n \n On January 10, 1992 Ken married Joanne Loofboro in Menomonie, after her death he later married Beatrice Borsche on August 2, 2003 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville. She also preceded him in death. \n \n Ken enjoyed working in the yard, mowing the lawn and taking care of the flowers. He also enjoyed going to the Senior Center and playing Bingo with friends. \n \n Ken is survived by a sister, Dora Hanson of Coon Rapids, MN; three brothers, Dean (Shirley) Batchelder of Elizabethton, TN, Lioness (Jacki) Batchelder of Brillion, WI and Larry (Rachel) Batchelder of Menomonie; stepchildren, nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Vivian Batchelder; his first wife Joanne and second wife Beatrice; and a brother-in-law, Gerald Hanson. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 21, 2013 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville, with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Cedar Falls Cemetery in the Town of Red Cedar, Dunn Co., WI.
