Leatus M. Thibado Obituary (1927

Leatus M. Thibado, age 87, of Downsville, WI passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2014 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie. The former Leatus Turner was born May 13, 1927 in Downsville to Merton and Rosella (Laughlin) Turner. She was raised in Downsville, baptized and later confirmed in 1942 at St. James Lutheran in Downsville. On Sept. 3, 1954, Leatus married Charles Thibado in Iowa. Leatus worked as a Nurse’s Aide at Memorial and Myrtle Werth Hospitals in Menomonie and later the Dunn County Health Care Center, retiring in 1990. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling and especially family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Merton and Rosella turner; her husband Charles Thibado; one daughter Catherine Thibado; step-sons, Dean Thibado, and James Thibado; a brother Leon Turner and sister Lois Warren. Leatus is survived by her daughter, Connie (Jim) Newman of Hayward; step-son, Robert (Kay) Thibado of Downsville; step-daughter, Millie (Roland) Kistner of Menomonie; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special cousin, Doris Myers of Eau Galle; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville, with Pastor Dale Moe officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in the Town of Dunn, Dunn Co. WI.
