Lenore I. Norby, age 79, of Menomonie, WI, passed away Sunday July 11, 2010 at Spring Valley Health Care Center. \n \n The former Lenore Idella Holte was born May 31, 1931 in the Town of Otter Creek, Dunn Co., WI, to Albert and Alvera "Dolly" (Sylte) Holte. She was raised in the Sand Creek area and later graduated from Colfax High School in 1948. \n \n Lenore married LaMoine Norby on July 15, 1950 in Sand Creek, WI. In 1953 they moved to Menomonie and then moved to Minneapolis, MN in 1974 where Lenore worked as a seamstress at Abbott Northwestern Hospital until 1989. Her husband preceded her in death in 1988 and Lenore returned to Menomonie in 1989. \n \n Lenore was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. She enjoyed fishing, knitting, going to the theater and traveling, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren that she loved taking care of. Her family was very important to Lenore and she always put them first. She will be sadly missed. \n \n Lenore is survived by: \n Two sons and one daughter, \n Richard Norby of Menomonie \n Douglas Norby of Chippewa Falls \n Lora Norby of Albuquerque, NM \n Daughter -in-law, Betty Norby, Knapp \n Her grandchildren, Nathan and Donna Norby, Paula Lokrantz, Robert and Brent Norby, Michael and Nicholas Norby, Jessy Norby, Chastity Desomone, Richard Baier and Kary Murphy \n 12 great-grandchildren \n Three sisters, \n Patricia Paulsrud of Eau Claire \n Carol (Jerry) Dodge of Chetek \n Alicia (Gordy) Behling of Spring Valley \n Nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaMoine Norby, a sister Jean Hintzman, a brother Dennis Holte, two sons, Emanuel and Gary Norby and a grandson Dustin Baier. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Roy Harrisville officiating. Visitation will follow the service until 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie.
