Lila Marie Dean, age 86, of Menomonie, WI went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, April 17, 2015 at Comforts of Home Memory Care, Menomonie. \n Lila was born December 10, 1928 in Menomonie, the youngest of nine siblings to Walter Seger and Blanche (Smith) Seger. She grew up in Menomonie and moved to Los Angeles, California her sophomore year of high school to live with her older sister. She graduated from Fremont High School in 1947. Lila married Tom Dean on January 21, 1949 in Los Angeles. As a military wife and mother of five children Lila was determined to give her family a stable upbringing as they relocated from base to base for 15 years. Lila and her family moved back to Menomonie in 1970. \n Lila had a successful career as a Nurses Aid for sixteen years at the Dunn County Health Care Center. After retirement she was a volunteer for fifteen years at the hospital, in addition to volunteering at the hospice program, a testament to her serving heart. She was active in numerous local organizations. Lila was a member and volunteer of United Methodist Church of Menomonie. Highlights of Lila’s life were spending time with her family, gardening, traveling with her husband, and serving others. Lila will be remembered for bestowing her generous spirit and sense of humor to her family, friends, and community. \n Lila is survived by her husband Tom of sixty six years, five children; Thomas Dean, Linda Blackmarr, Steven Dean, Laura Dekas, Sandra Dean, and spouses. She is also survived by her thirteen loving grandchildren and sixteen adorable great grandchildren. \n She was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Blanche, brothers, Albert Seger, Arnold Seger, Eugene Seger, Milo Seger and sisters, Dona Hamilton, Cleo Cox, Lena Gaylord, Viola Howell. \n The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire Comforts of Home Memory Care staff for their loving and respectful care, as well as her physician, Dr. Nelson and the Mayo Clinic Health System Home and Hospice team. \n Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie. \n In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that a donation be made in honor of Lila’s life to the Mayo Clinic Health System Home and Hospice.
