Lyle E. Finder, age 83 of Menomonie, WI passed away Saturday, December 20, 2014 at Mayo Clinic Health System - Eau Claire. \n \n He was born Oct. 9, 1931 in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI to Emil and Mamie (Behling) Finder. At the age of two he moved with his parents to the Town of Lucas where they purchased a farm. \n \n On Aug. 28, 1953, Lyle married Jacqueline Hawkinson at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. After their marriage, Lyle worked for his parents on the family farm, purchasing the farm in 1967. They continued to improve the land and buildings, constructing a new home in 1970. Lyle was a skilled mechanic as well as farm equipment operator and took great pride in his farm, the care of his crops and livestock. \n \n Lyle was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he served on the Church Council, the Cemetery Committee and other church committees. He also loved his family and always enjoyed gatherings of family and friends. \n \n Lyle is survived by his wife, Jacqueline; his children, Annette (Vern) Coenen of Waukesha, Renee (Tom) Surdick of Menomonie, Rhonda (Michael) Hulls of Denver CO, Roechel Ferguson of Menomonie, Brian (Kathy) Finder of Elk Mound; grandchildren, Ciarah, Cyra and Crystal Coenen, Kristin Surdick, Matthew (Whitney) Surdick and Emily Finder; great-grandchild, Keaton Surdick; a sister, Carol Stevens of Eau Claire and a brother, James (Marcia) Finder of Chandler AZ; as well as other relatives and friends and his trusted companion, Mia Pearl. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Mamie Finder; and two brothers, Gordon and Donald Finder. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery in the spring. \n \n The family suggests memorials to Christ Lutheran Church.
