Marcheta Maxine (Kuhn) Haile \n \n Marcheta Maxine Haile passed away on Friday, October 31, 2008 at Clark Retirement Community in Grand Rapids, Michigan. \n \n She was born April 23, 1926 in Knapp, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Elsie (Purvis) Kuhn. \n \n She grew up with her brother Stan on the family farm in Knapp, Wisconsin and looked forward to her return visits to the farm as it was always 'home' to her. \n \n After attending Knapp School, she graduated from Menomonie High School. She then attended the Gale Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She worked at the Atlanta, Georgia airport as an aircraft communicator for the Civil Aeronautics Administration. \n \n She married Robert Halbert Haile August 4, 1946 in the Methodist Church in Knapp, Wisconsin. To this union four children were born; Roderick Kent, Larry Ray, Jay Robert and Bonnie Lee. In their first years of married life they lived in Boyceville, Wisconsin where Robert was a teacher. In 1952 they moved to Chilton, Wisconsin where Bob worked as 4-H Youth Extension Agent for the University of Wisconsin. Through Michigan State University's 4-H Youth Extension they then moved to Michigan; 1958 to Big Rapids, 1964 to Bad Axe, 1970 to Reed City. Marcheta was a secretary at First United Methodist Church in Big Rapids and also in Bad Axe. In Bad Axe she was also employed by the Bad Axe Public Schools. In 1970 she was employed as an Administrative Secretary at Ferris State College, in Big Rapids, Michigan, until her retirement in 1985. While employed by F.S.C. she was a member of the C.O.G.S. Secretarial Organization. She worked for Parker - Ryan in Big Rapids, Michigan in alterations in the 1960's and since has enjoyed doing alterations for friends. She was a member of the Extension Clubs in Wisconsin and also Bad Axe, Michigan, a member of the Jump & Run Extension Club in Big Rapids, Michigan, and the Stitch & Chatter in Reed City, Michigan. \n \n In 1998 they retired to Clark Retirement Community. She was a member of the Northlawn United Methodist Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. \n \n Marcheta is survived by her husband of 62 years Robert Haile of 1516 Sherman S.E. #1, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49506; son Rick Haile and wife Kathy, their children Jesse Haile, Brita (Brandon) Williams, April Haile, Wendy Haile, and Ann Haile of Gaastra, Michigan; son Larry Haile and wife Selene, their children Kate (Michael) Del Vecchio and Dana Haile of Poughquag, New York; son Jay Haile of Big Rapids, Michigan and daughter Bonnie Haile of Traverse City, Michigan. She is also survived by her brother Stan Kuhn and wife Audrey of Knapp, Wisconsin; niece Kim (John) Uetz of Knapp, Wisconsin and family Angela (Jamie) Larson and daughter Sydney and Brendon Uetz; niece Kristie (Lance) Schwartz of Riverside, California and family, Matthew, Jenna, Tonya, and Chelsey; niece Tamara Betterley of Clarksville, Tennessee and son Taylor; nephew Troy (Heather) Kuhn of Knapp, Wisconsin and family Jordan and Morgan and her sister-in-law Janette Schutz of Costa Mesa, California. \n \n A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00am at the Knapp United Methodist Church in Knapp, Wisconsin with Rev. James Harrington officiating. \n Interment will be at the Forest Hill Cemetery in the town of Stanton, Dunn Co., Wisconsin and reception to follow at the Knapp House. \n \n Memorials may be given to Clark Retirement Community, Northlawn United Methodist Church or the Knapp United Methodist Church.
