Marian P. Scott, age 92, formerly of the Menomonie, WI area passed away Friday, March 29, 2013 at Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center. \n \n The former Marian Giertz was born August 20, 1920 in Menomonie, WI to Henry and Helen (Schultz) Giertz. She was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School. \n \n Marian married Floyd Scott and they were later divorced. \n \n After high school Marian moved to Renton, WA for a few years, upon returning to the area she lived in Knapp for 20 plus years before moving to Menomonie and later to Waunakee. She worked in the Food Service Dept. at U.W. Stout for several years, at Sanna Dairies and was head of housekeeping at the Dunn County Health Care Center, retiring in 1985. \n \n Marian was a former member of Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie. She enjoyed playing paint ball, but raising her family was the most important part of her life. She will be sadly missed. \n \n Marian is survived by her children, Sharon Acker (friend, Jeri LeMieux) of Harshaw, WI, Adrian (Patty) Scott of Menomonie, Dawn Scott of Milwaukee and Craig (Jodi) Scott of Mesa, AZ; twelve grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Frances Shalbreck of Rhinelander, Betty Holden of Menomonie, Doris Morris of Rhinelander and a brother, William (Betty) Giertz of Arkansaw; as well as nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends. \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother James Giertz. \n \n Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co., WI.
