Marian J. Sylte

Marian Jeanette Sylte passed away on June 17, 2010 at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

Marian, the daughter of Francis and Alice Tande was born on February 28, 1935 in Colfax, Wisconsin. She attended grade school and high school there.

She married Curtis Arden Sylte on January 25th 1952. They lived in Colfax for awhile before moving to Menomonie, Wisconsin.

Marian worked a few jobs waitressing in the area before being hired at Sandy Lee Manufacturing, where she eventually retired from.

Marian enjoyed camping and spent most of her weekends at Big Swede's Resort in Lake Holcombe, Wisconsin. She also enjoyed fishing, campfires, music, sewing, knitting and crocheting.

Marian is survived by her 3 sons, Larry (Carol) of Menomonie, Wisconsin, Lonny (Maryann) of Hammond, Wisconsin and Lynn (Erin) of Centennial, Colorado, one sister, Jeannine (John) Spielman of River Falls, Wisconsin, one brother, Floyd (Donna) Tande of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, four Grandchildren, Stephen Sylte of Fitchburg, Wisconsin, Stephanie (Adam) Guden of Neenah, Wisconsin, Alison and Niki Sylte of Centennial, Colorado and one Great Grandchild, Alexandra Mae Guden. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.

Marian was preceded in death by her parents, husband Curtis, one brother, LaVerne Tande, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and her loving companion, her Boston Terrier, Elmer.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 4-7p.m. at the Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, Wisconsin with the service at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Menomonie, Wisconsin.
