Marie K. Hayden, known to many as Grandma Marie, died peacefully in her sleep, on October 28, 2015, her 103rd birthday, at home in the Town of Elk Mound, with her daughter at her side. She was born in Lewiston, Idaho on October 28, 1912 to Charlie and Hattie (Weller) Krueger. \n \n Marie was a school teacher, teaching in Crystal, Pocatello and Coeur d’Alene Idaho. She became a speech therapist, starting the program in the Coeur d’Alene school district. After retirement she moved to Wisconsin to be closer to family. \n \n She was preceded in death by her husband Norman and her son Keith. \n \n Marie is survived by her daughter Eileen (Elton John) Christopherson; three grandchildren, Tony of Elk Mound, Bryan (Liz) of Eau Claire, and Vicky (Mickey) Case of Powell, WY; two great-grandsons, Dylan and Dalton Christopherson; she is also survived by other relatives, special friends and assistant caregivers, Grace and Robert Ivey. \n \n Marie was a great friend to many and was loved by all who knew her. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at the Menomonie Seventh Day Adventist Church, E6451S Co. Rd. E, Menomonie, WI on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. You may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. There will also be a luncheon following the service at the church. \n \n The family would like to thank hospice for their services. \n \n Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
