Marion L. Brunn, age 85, of Menomonie, WI died Sunday, January 10, 2010 at her home. \n \n She was born on September 21, 1924 to Herman and Loretta (Backus) Brunn, in the Town of Union, Eau Claire Co., WI. She graduated from Menomonie High School in 1942 and has been a long time Menomonie area resident. \n \n Marion and her sister were the first two women to play in the Ludington Guard Band, which she enjoyed for many years. \n \n She worked for Northern States Power Company for over 30 years. \n \n Marion was baptized, confirmed and a life-long member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Menomonie. \n \n Marion is survived by: \n A brother, Myrl W. Brunn of Eau Claire \n A sister, Gail Krause of Menomonie \n Two nephews, Donald Krause of Colfax and James Krause of Menomonie \n Two nieces, Jinny (Don) Thompson-Orsburne of Eau Claire \n And Dianna (Gary) McBride-Smith of Catlin, IL \n Also a great-nephew Dalton Krause of Menomonie \n And other relatives and friends \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents, longtime companion Buck Maves, her sister Elaine Iverson, and a nephew Michael Brunn. \n \n Funeral services will be held Thursday January 14, 2010 at 1:00 PM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Menomonie, with Pastor Steve Schmeling officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
