Marlys Marie Bowell Obituary (1933

Marlys M. Bowell, age 77, of Menomonie, WI died Monday February 14, 2011 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie. The former Marlys Marie Cropp was born April 18, 1933 in Menomonie, WI to Hugh and Caroline (Finder) Cropp. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie, where she has been a life-long member. Marlys married Jack Bowell on January 6, 1950 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and were married for 30 years. Her passion in life was her flowers and she loved filling her deck with a variety of beautiful flowers. Marlys is survived by: Three daughters, Virginia (Steven) Geraets of Elmwood Shirley Smith of Menomonie Carla (Bruce) Podoll of Spring Valley Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren A brother Kenneth (Judy) Cropp of Fort Myers, FL A sister Lois (John) Dart of Green Bay, WI Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, a daughter Rinda, two grandchildren, Pat and Carrie, one sister Joanne, two brothers, Walter and Thomas and special friend Harold Ziehme. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday February 18, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00-7:00 pm Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery at a later date.
