Maxine A. Wold, age 88, of Menomonie, WI passed away Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System – Menomonie, surrounded by her family. \n \n The former Maxine Anita Stubb was born Dec. 13, 1922 in Menomonie, WI to Fred and Minnie (Munkwitz) Stubb. She married Howard Wold on Sept. 21, 1940 and four children were born to this union. \n \n In her earlier years Maxine loved to fish. She also loved to play Bingo and cards, especially Rummikub, with her grandchildren. Maxine was a German who married a Norwegian, so she learned to make Lefse and other Norwegian foods. \n \n Maxine was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and a member of Women of the Moose 682 and taught some of the members to make Lefse. \n \n Maxine is survived by: \n Her four children, \n Kenneth (Margaret) Wold of Lakeville, MN \n Robert Wold of Ridgeland \n Sally Pitzrick of Menomonie \n Nancy Wold of Menomonie \n Nine grandchildren \n 14 great-grandchildren \n several step-great-grandchildren \n cousins, Donald Munkwitz, Margaret Halverson and Virginia Stubb, \n a sister-in-law, Doris Wold \n and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, an infant sister Beverly Bernice Stubb and sister Angeline May Jacobs. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church in Menomonie, with Pastor David Whelan officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with a Women of the Moose service at 7:30 p.m. There will also be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery.
