Melinda Sue Gabriel, born April 23, 1988, to Kevin and Shari (Cornellier) Gabriel in Duluth, MN left her life on earth, and those whom loved her dearly, peacefully, on Friday, June 29, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, WI with her family at her side. She is survived by her mother, Shari Gabriel, and her brother, Justin Gabriel, along with her grandparents, Louis and Mavis Cornellier, Orval and Bovaird Gabriel, aunts, uncles and countless cousins. Mindy will be missed deeply by her friends whom became family and by her dogs, Tara and Bella, whom she was passionate about, without question. \n \n In her 30 years, Mindy had a way about her that drew people to her from all walks of life. She was a beautiful, adventurous, strong-willed, free-spirited soul. Carrying with her a piece of her father, whom she devastatingly lost early in life, she most connected with the elderly and those whom were disabled, young and old. Her heart and unconditional acceptance of anyone and everyone, regardless of age, social status or circumstance is a legacy that will not soon be forgotten by those whom were blessed by her impact in their life. \n \n Mindy graduated from Elk Mound High School in 2006. She maintained relationships with many of her classmates and was an influential force of living life to its fullest, as your true self, without apology, to all who crossed paths with her. She loved true crime stories, crafting and anything imaginative. She leaves behind a slew of tie blankets and personally-made gifts that will forever be a reminder of fond memories that include silliness, laughter and stories “you’d have had to be there” to fully appreciate. \n \n Although those of us left behind feel a debilitating sense of loss for this big life gone too soon, we also know that Melinda was certain to have kicked off her flip flops and ran to the arms of her father, whom she’s missed terribly since his death when she was just fifteen years old; along with dear friends, family and pets awaiting her arrival to a place of peace and comfort. \n \n To honor our life with Mindy, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life at 12:00 (noon) on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Come just as you are. Mindy would have wanted it no other way. There will be visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
