Michael "Mike" A. Goetsch, age 56, of Menomonie, WI died unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Menomonie. \n \n He was born December 9, 1954 in Ortonville, MN to Harvey Otto and Shirley (Theis) Goetsch. Harvey passed away about 3 months later and Shirley later married Joseph Hetman. \n \n Mike married Gretchen Gierke on September 1, 1984 in Bloomington, MN. \n He worked as an injection molder for Thermo Tech in the Twin Cities for over 20 years. Mike and his family moved to Menomonie in about 1989, where he was employed by Silgan Can Systems. \n \n Mike bowled regularly on Thursday night league for Broadway Bowl. He loved wood working and enjoyed computers. Most of all, Mike loved playing with his 3 grandchildren. \n \n He is survived by his wife Gretchen \n Daughter Virginia (John) Prechel \n Son Nicholas Goetsch \n 3 grandchildren, Olivia, Oliver and Ofelia Prechel \n Sister Lisa Hetman and brother Robert Hetman \n Mother-in-law Virginia Gierke \n And many other nieces, nephews, other relative and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his father Harvey Goetsch and mother and step-father Shirley and Joseph Hetman and father-in-law Earl Gierke. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Pastor Brett Voigt officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
