Mildred Irene Siler, age 89 of Menomonie, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie. \n \n Millie was born Sept.26, 1928 to Julius and Leona (Wagner) Jacobs. She married Thomas Colby Jr. and had two children. After her divorce she moved back to Menomonie, where she met and married Eugene Siler and had one more child. \n \n Millie worked for years as nurse’s aide at Myrtle Werth Hospital in Menomonie. She received her GED after her children were grown and went on to become an LPN and continued working at Myrtle Werth until she retired. \n \n Millie and Eugene loved to travel, go fishing and go to casinos. They loved their schnauzers Abbie I and II. She was a member at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville, and a member of the VFW Auxiliary #1039 and Women of Moose Chapter 682. \n \n Millie is survived by her children, Tom Colby, Downsville, Jean (Dick) Olson, MN and Greg Siler WI; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one great great- granddaughter; sisters, Sharon Seeger and Mary Smull; one brother Lane Jacobs, brother and sister-in-law Myron (Kathy) Siler and Ione Danzinger. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Millie was lucky to have many friends, especially her special friend Connie Kistner of Downsville. \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene Siler, sister Juliann Siler, brother Francis (Bud) Jacobs, brothers-in-law Allen (Manny) Siler, Don Smull, Fred Seeger, Dennis Danzinger, Irvin Mattison, and sister-in-law Betty Mattison, plus a very special nephew Daniel Siler. \n \n Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2018 at New Hope Lutheran Church in Downsville with Pastor Judy Kincaid officiating. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery in Downsville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
