Oscar Beckwith Jr.

Oscar Beckwith, age 93, formerly of Menomonie; died, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at The Baldwin Care Center in Baldwin, WI.

He was born September 25, 1917 in Fridley, MN, the son of Oscar & Alimena (Terry) Beckwith. He married Winona Joles on October 30, 1939 and she died on September 15, 1991.

Oscar was inducted into the Army on May 14, 1943 to Camp Grant in Illinois and served during W.W.II. He owned and operated Oscar Beckwith Septic Service for 35 years.

Survivors include 4 daughters, Ann (Mervil) Heins, Sissy (Chuck) Kindschy, Bonnie Stouff (Beckwith)and Linda Kirschbaum (Lenny); 1 sister, Helen Peterson; 10 grandchildren, Winona Beckwith (John), Monica (Eric) Timm, Tessica (Christopher) Johnson, Alicia Stouff, LaTasha (Kevin) Crandall, Larry (Shanna) Lange, Lenny (Christina) Lange, Geraldine Heins, Kevin (Wanda) Heins and Darrin (Elizabeth) Kirschbaum; 23 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Winona; 1 son, Larry; 3 sisters and 3 brothers.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI, with Pastor LeRoy Nelson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday and 2 hours prior to service all at Olson funeral home. Burial will take place following the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, Eau Claire. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post #53 of Eau Claire.
