Otto Methner, age 81, of Menomonie, WI passed Tuesday December 7, 2010 at Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. \n \n Otto was born September 21, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois to Otto and Martha (Gruenabald) Methner. He attended school in Chicago and later enlisted in the U. S. Army. \n \n He worked for ITT Harper Company as a machine operator and chose an early retirement due to the closing of the company. \n \n Otto was a very kind and thoughtful person. He was a skilled handyman and devoted his talent in helping the church as well as neighbors with repairs and renovations. Otto was also very much into cars. When a new model of car came out that he liked, he had to have it. So he purchased a new car almost every year. \n \n Otto is survived by \n Two sisters, Irmgard Stevens of Menomonie and Ursula Makowijczuk of West Chicago, IL \n Also many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Paul and brother-in-law DuWayne Stevens. \n \n A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 11, 2010, at 12:00 PM at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Steve Schmeling officiating. Family and Friends are welcome from 11:30 until the time of service for a time of remembrance. \n \n Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie is serving the family.
