Phyllis L. Pelzer Obituary (1917

Phyllis L. Pelzer, age 95, of Menomonie, formerly of Fort Atkinson, WI passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012 at Our House Senior Living in Menomonie, with hospice. The former Phyllis L. Maves was born June 27, 1917 along with twin brother Paul to Herbert and Dorothy (Luethe) Maves of Elk Mound, WI. She was baptized and confirmed at Tainter Evangelical Church. Phyllis attended rural grade school and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1934. She then went to work in Milwaukee, where she met her future husband, Edward "Bud" Pelzer. They were married December 30, 1939 in Fort Atkinson where Bud's family lived. Phyllis and Bud settled in Fort Atkinson and were blessed with one son, James. During their time in Fort Atkinson Phyllis was employed with Mason Insurance for many years. Phyllis and Bud enjoyed summers in Menomonie after Bud retired. They also loved camping, square dancing and the trips they made touring western United State. The last six years Phyllis has lived in Menomonie. Phyllis is survived by a grandson, Robert (Kate) Pelzer, two great-grandchildren and a granddaughter, Nicole Pelzer. She is also survived by two sisters, Hazel Brooke and Correne (Ron) Husby, a brother John Maves and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud, son James, twin brother Paul and wife Kathryn Maves, brother-in-law Jesse Brooke, sister-in-law Lola Maves, brother-in-law Walter Pelzer and wife Florence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at Tainter United Methodist Church in the Town of Tainter, Dunn Co. WI with Pastor Craig Conklin officiating. There will be visitation at the church from 12:00 noon on Monday until the time of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Atkinson, WI at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012. Olson Funeral Home of Menomonie, WI is serving the family.
