Phyllis M. Shock Obituary (1920

Phyllis M. Shock, of Menomonie, died peacefully on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at the Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center, after living a wonderful life of 94 years. The former Phyllis Maxine Rudiger was born on July 11, 1920 in Menomonie, WI to Leopold and Thrine “Tina” (Walseth) Rudiger. She was a lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. She had several hobbies but her specialties were gardening, knitting and crocheting, cooking and baking. From church to political organizations to the Girl Scouts and more, Phyllis had the volunteer spirit and was always willing to roll up her sleeves and help get the job done. On December 6, 1941, Phyllis married Frederick “Fritz” Shock and immediately became a W.W. II bride. When Phyllis met Fritz she was a beautician by trade. However she eventually became a full time homemaker and devoted her life to their children and helping out with Fritz’s business, Lakeview Barber Shop. Phyllis and Fritz had four children, Donna (Tom) Muenich of Colfax, Larry (deceased September 2013), Linda (Steve) Price of Spring Valley, and Peggy (Tod) Tibbetts of Silt CO. They were also blessed with eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. They shared 57 happy years together, until Fritz’s death on July 1, 1999. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Heather Wigdahl officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. Burial will be in Mamre Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI.
