Raymond Hart \n \n Raymond E. Hart, age 84, of Menomonie, WI passed away suddenly on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Dunn County Health Care Center. \n \n Ray was born on December 6, 1928 to Martha (Price) and William Hart in the township of Stanton, Dunn County. He grew up on his parent's farm south of Boyceville and attended eight grades at Peck School. Following school he worked at the Menomonie Brick Yards, Teegarden Cheese Factory, and Doboy in New Richmond before working on farms near Valley City. \n \n On April 11,1950, Ray married Helen "Midge" Yoder in Boyceville. He worked for Armour in South St. Paul at that time. In 1951 he started working for the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad and in 1953 their son Steven was born. \n \n In the spring of 1958 the family purchased their own farm west of Knapp; they also worked jobs away from the farm. In 1966 they moved to Menomonie where Raymond continued his work with the railroad until his retirement in 1990 after 38 years. In the 1980's, Ray and Helen turned their farm over to their son where they continued to help with the farm and the gardening. Raymond enjoyed dancing and followed their son Steve's band. There were no shy dancers left after Ray and Helen went around the ballroom floor. \n \n Retirement was busy with helping on the farm and selling produce for Steve. In 1997 the Dunn County News interviewed Raymond at his food stand and described him as a "person of integrity and no stranger to hard work." Being a real charmer, he always told his caregivers that "they were all keepers" and that "his wife's applesauce beat out Musselman's." \n \n Ray and Helen enjoyed rural rides and had lunch with friends regularly. Raymond loved his wife Helen and she provided Ray with love, care, encouragement and very nutritious meals that gave Raymond his long life. \n \n Ray is survived by his wife Helen of 63 years, son Steven, a sister Harriet Suneson and a brother Earl Hart. He is also survived by other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Doris Marlette, Lorraine Talmadge and Marion Brezina. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 11.00 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church in Menomonie with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. Burial will take place in Teegarden Cemetery, Twp. of Lucas, Dunn Co. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. \n \n Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
