Richard A. “Dick” Camp, age 79, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014 at home after a long illness. \n \n He was born Nov. 20, 1934 in Stanley, WI to Harold and Irene (McCulloch) Camp. Dick grew up in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School. \n \n On March 21, 1959, Dick married Wilmay “Willie” Plautz at the E.U.B. Church in Menomonie. They resided in Menomonie and raised three children. \n \n Dick served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961 and then joined his father in the TV sales and repair business. He became a fire fighter for the Menomonie Fire Department on January 1, 1967 and retired in December 1989. His knowledge as a firefighter drew him to a fire extinguisher business from 1984 to 2011. \n \n Dick is survived by his wife Willie of Menomonie; son Dale Camp of Blaine MN, daughters, Donna Camp-Madigan of Blaine MN, Jill (Luke) Myhers of Eau Claire WI; grandson Gunner Sigurdson of Eau Claire WI; brother Robert Camp of Coon Rapids MN, sisters, Sue Krosnoski of Downing WI and Janet Crotteau of Rice Lake WI as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Irene C brothers-in-law Richard Crotteau and LaVerne Krosnoski; and a nephew Steven Krosnoski. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 a United Methodist Church in Menomonie with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. Military honors will be conducted by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Menomonie at a later date.
