Robert A. Bahnsen \n \n Robert Alan Bahnsen, age 66, of Menomonie, WI passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at his home. \n \n He was born Feb. 21, 1949 in Menomonie, WI to Dana C. and Betty (Burdeaux) Bahnsen. Bob was raised in Menomonie and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1967. \n \n After high school he served in the U.S. Air Force for four years where he met and married Violet Hawley on Feb. 7, 1970 in Topeka, KS. They were later divorced. \n \n Bob worked as a mechanic and truck driver before being employed at ConAgra Foods formerly Sanna Dairies for 30 years. He was Union Steward for Teamsters Local 662 for several years. \n \n Bob loved riding his Harley, going to Sturgis, hunting and also driving race cars for a number of years. And he really loved having coffee with friends at Exit 45. \n \n Bob is survived by his son, Dana J. Bahnsen of Milwaukee; a niece, Rene (Jack) Hughes of Knapp; great nephews and nieces; and other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Donna Neumann and his nephew Troy Bahnsen. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 25, 2016 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor Paul Carlson officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Halvorson Cemetery at a later date. Following the service there will be a gathering at Stout Ale House in Menomonie.
