Robert B. Hickcox, age 88, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at his home. \n \n Robert was born June 10, 1927 in Eau Claire County, WI to Bruce and Henrietta (Taylor) Hickcox. He was raised in the Menomonie area, graduated from Menomonie High School in 1945 and also graduated from Dunn County Normal School. \n \n In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. On June 27, 1950 Robert married Emogene Leach at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie. \n \n Bob taught school in Wales, WI for a few years before returning to Menomonie in 1957. He worked for Nevins Flooring for a few years and then went on his own as an installer, retiring in 2000. \n \n Bob loved to sing and was a member of a local barber shop quartet. He was also a member of the Menomonie United Methodist Church. Bob’s family was the most important part of his life and he enjoyed the company at family gatherings, holidays and parties. \n \n Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emogene; his children, Debra Nichols of Menomonie, Robert (Laurie) of Menomonie, Laurie (David) Kaye of Brussels, WI; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Art) Lien of White Water, WI. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Marsha Hickcox, William Hickcox and Arlis Moya. \n \n Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Menomonie, with Pastor Wendy Slaback officiating. There will be visitation at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in the Town of Dunn, Dunn Co. WI with military honors by Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard. Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
