Robert Roy Miller, age 64, of Colfax, WI died peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 with his family at his side. \n \n He was born on April 11, 1946 in Prairie Farm, WI and was raised by his grandparents, Roy and Maude Miller. Following graduation from high school, Bob followed his passion as a mechanic and worked in a number of different settings. He especially loved tinkering with his 1946 Ford Pickup. \n \n Bob loved to read, his passion being W.W.II. He also enjoyed fishing, going to auctions, visiting with family and friends, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he loved his cats. He also loved music and you would often hear sounds of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen and others on those nice summer evenings as he grilled out on his deck. \n \n Bob married Judy Johnson in June of 1978 and they made their home on Lake Tainter where they raised three daughters, Kari Laesch of Hammond, WI, Brooke of Boston, MA and Mandy of Colfax, WI. He was also blessed with five grandchildren, which he fondly referred to as "his circus" - Lexi, Zoey, Riley, Piper and Xavier. Eleanor Harstad, an aunt from Chetek, WI also held a special place in Bob's heart. Tuesdays were always their day to spend together. He is also survived by his father-in-law, Louis Johnson of Colfax, brother-in-law, David (Lucy) Johnson of Rockford, IL, sister-in-law, Sue (Tod) Griffith of Knapp, aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. \n \n He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy and Maude Miller, his mother, Elaine Miller and mother-in-law, Helen Johnson. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Chaplain Dale Freberg officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
