ROBERT W. RICHGELS

Robert "Bob" William Richgels, age 56, of Menomonie and formerly of Eau Claire and Madison, passed away unexpectedly on April 25, 2010 from natural causes.

He was born December 13, 1953 in Dodgeville to Melvin and Leora (Drager) Richgels of Cross Plains.

Bob is survived by his daughter Erin (Troy) Betcher, Eau Claire; son Neil Richgels, Eau Claire; grandson Luke Betcher; his mother, Leora; brothers, John Richgels, Middleton, Jim (Janine) Richgels, Madison and Ken One Peace, Madison; sisters, Leone Richgels, Littleton, CO, Jane Richgels, Middleton, Mary (Manuel) Saenz, East Troy, Betty (Edward) Duesterhoeft, New Glarus, Donna Fox, Portland, OR, Kathy (Colin) Fitzsimmons, Dodgeville; and mother of his children, Peg Richgels, Eau Claire. He is further survived by 28 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews, his uncle Charles O'Brien; his aunts Gail Drager, Eudelma Richgels and Anna Mae Richgels; and in-laws Jeanne Lennie, Eau Glaire, Sharon (Bernie) Reidinger, Grandview, Linda (Steve) Zimmerman, Altoona, Jeff (Tess) Lennie, Jackson, B'Dette Knudson, Eau Claire.

He was preceded in death by his father Melvin, brother David Richgels, sister-in-law Linda (John) Richgels, two nephews Trevor and Tyler, and father-in-law Bernie Lennie.

Bob was known for his good humor and quick wit. He was rarely seen without a ball cap. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, whether playing golf, skiing, walking or sitting quietly in the woods. His greatest joy was family get-togethers and spending time with his grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Moose Lodge, 3606 Curvue Rd., Eau Claire, WI 54703.

A scattering of ashes is being planned in Cross Plains at a later date.
