Rollie E. Stelling, age 83, of Colfax, WI passed away peacefully at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI on September 26, 2019. \n \n He was born on December 10, 1935 to Clarence and Ethel Stelling in Lake City, MN. Rollie grew up in Red Wing, MN. He attended school until the age of 15, then going into the National Guard and later the U.S. Army. He served our country for nine years, during which time the Korean War took place. \n \n Rollie married Charlotte in 1959, this last June they celebrated 62 years of marriage. Together they raised their family on the farm in Prescott, WI. They had two sons Dave and Rick. Rollie was a hard worker, jack of all trades. Later they moved to Hager City, WI where they raised their daughter Theresa. After their retirement they came to the Menomonie, WI area. Rollie loved gardening, from flowers to his very large vegetable gardens, fishing and so much more. \n \n Rollie is survived by his wife, Charlotte; three children, Dave, Rick and Theresa; one brother Pete Stelling of Hager city WI; a very special grand-daughter Mariah, who is his world. He is further survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends from all over. Everyone in his life was very special to him, and he always let them know it. He was never too busy to lend his ear and give his advice. \n \n He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ethel Stelling, three sisters Marcene Thompson and her infant son Gary, Ruthie (Dave) Oellrich, and DeAnna (Chuck) Becker and DeAnna's son Scott. \n \n Memorial Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard followed by a luncheon. There will be a visitation from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services.
