Rosezena R. Peterson Obituary (1942

Rosezena R. Peterson of Menomonie WI, age 80 passed away February 19, 2023 at Glenhaven Nursing home in Glenwood City. She was born June 10, 1942 in Sherman Township, Dunn County Wisconsin to Russell and Minnie (Gardner) Woods. Rose grew up on the family farm on Woods Road. She was one of 23 children. Rose attended a one room schoolhouse (Lambs Creek School). Rose met the love of her life in 1960, Burt Peterson and they married on July 21, 1962 in Dunn County Wisconsin. Together they had 5 children. Rose was a woman ahead of her time with a kind and loving heart. Her and her husband managed and owned two group homes for the mentally challenged. She was the top salesperson selling Electrolux vacuum cleaners. She fought for what she believed in, thus saving the playground across from her home on Holly Ave in St. Paul, MN. She always enjoyed fishing, watching wildlife (especially birds), and visiting family and friends. Rose loved spending time with her cat, Snuggle Bug. Rose is survived by her children, Don (Sonja) Peterson of Chippewa Falls, WI, Michael Peterson of Phoenix, AZ, Valorie (Kelly) Morse of Boyceville, WI, Mitzi (Otis) Moore of Colfax, WI. Her grandchildren, Ashlee (Michael) Christopherson, Jordan (Brooke) Morse, Mckayla (Tanner) Smith, Jakob Moore and Gabrielle Peterson. Her great grandchildren, Oaklee and Knoxlee Christopherson and Blakely Morse. Her brother Earnest (Dee) Woods, sister Kay Edgemon, Foster son James Brandel and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Burt and daughter Michelle, parents Russell and Minnie, and 20 of her brothers and sisters. A special thank you to Glenhaven Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice for the wonderful care that Mom received. There will be a visitation from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie.
