Rosita M. Sweeney

Rosita M. Sweeney, age 63, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at The Neighbors of Dunn County, with family by her side.

Rosita May Thibado was born on April 10, 1952 in Virginia, MN to Joseph and Jean (Stewart) Thibado.

In 1971, Rose graduated from Menomonie High School. She worked for a short time as a police officer in Elmwood, WI but the majority of her life she was a CNA at the Dunn County Health Care Center, retiring in 2010.

Rose was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was the “rock” of her family and devoted to her family and friends. She would always lend a helping hand whenever needed. Rose enjoyed fishing, crocheting, and playing cards and was also an active life member of VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post 1039.

Rose is survived by her husband, Rick Sweeney; son Shane (MJ) Bueling; step-son Randy (Amy) Burton; grandchildren, Kora Bueling, Alyssa Walker, Kirsten Bueling and Dale Burton; her mother Jean Thibado; a brother LeRoy (Beth) Thibado; and also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father Joseph Thibado; a brother John Thibado; husbands, Steve Bueling and Dale Burton; mother-in-law Doris Sweeney in 2014; and brother-in-law Dean Bueling.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, with Pastor Geoff Scott officiating. There will be visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday and an hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Menomonie, Dunn Co. WI.
