The Reverend Canon Sampson Rogers, III, died Monday, July 5, 2021 at Autumn Village Assisted Living in Menomonie. \n He was born August 26, 1929 in Rockford, Illinois to Dr. Maurice Rogers and Jeannette LePrevost Rogers. Sam received his BA from Beloit College and his LTh from Seabury Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. He was ordained to the priesthood of the Episcopal Church in 1957 and served churches in Maryland, California, and several in Wisconsin including Plymouth, Rhinelander, Ashland, and Menomonie. \n He is survived by his nephew, George Power (Diane) of St. Paul and his niece, Margaret Klema (Jon) of Georgetown, Texas, and extended family, friends and parishioners. \n He was pre-deceased by his parents and four siblings. \n Funeral services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 29th at Grace Episcopal Church in Menomonie. \n Family and friends are welcome at the church one hour prior to the service to greet family. \n Memorials preferred to Grace Church, Menomonie or donor’s choice. \n Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie is serving the family.
