Sharon B. Nordstrom, age 88, of Menomonie, WI passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Mayo Clinic Health System-La Crosse, WI. \n \n She was born Nov. 30, 1932, in Iron Mountain, MI to Evert and Elizabeth (Goodwin) Nordstrom. At the age of 12, Sharon moved with her family to Merrill, WI and graduated from Merrill High School in 1951. After two years of training at St. Joseph’s Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI she became a Registered Radiologic Technologist in 1954. \n \n Sharon also received certificates from U.W.-Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Center as well as attending many other training seminars for Lab and X-Ray technician. She worked as a Lab and X-Ray Technician for several hospitals, retiring as Chief Lab and X-Ray Technician at the Dunn County Health Care Center in Menomonie. She enjoyed working at the various places and learned a lot from the doctors. Sharon was a member of The Wisconsin and The American Society of Radiologic Technologists. \n \n Sharon never married; besides her work, she took care of her mother for several years. She loved people, but her heart was with animals. She was a volunteer at the Dunn County Humane Society. \n \n Sharon is survived by a cousin Sandra Wilkins and her care giver Regina and Matt Pritchard and family. \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Betty. \n \n A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Pastor Randy Skow-Anderson officiating. There will be visitation at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Breitung Township Cemetery in Quinnesec, MI at a later date.
