Sonja M. Link

Sonja M. Link, age 84, of Elk Mound, WI passed away December 2, 2024 at the Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI.

She was born November 7, 1940 to parents Emil and Martha Johansen in Barron, WI and attended Menomonie High School.

Sonja married Robert Link on August 29, 1957 and to this union they had seven children. She spent her time as a homemaker caring for her children and home. She was member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church and always made it a priority to for her and her children to attend Church, Sunday School and Confirmation. Sonja worked in the deli department at Lammers in Menomonie and Gordys in Eau Claire.

In her free time Sonja enjoyed bowling. She was on a couple different leagues, and participated in different tournaments. Family was very important to her. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her dedication to her family.

Sonja is survived by her seven children, Debbie (Delvin) Larson of Menomonie, Diane Scheffler of Menomonie, Anita Anderson of Eau Claire, Chris (Sandra Lee) Link of Elk Mound, David (Roxanne) Link of Menomonie, William Link of Marshfield, WI, and Jason Link of Minong; grandchildren Amber, Sarah, Shawn (Leah), Jared, Evan (Liz), Ethan (Bri), DaNae (Chris), Carrissa (Ryan), Heidi, Joshua (Mikayla), Kayleigh, Trevin (Shannon), Brianna (Ryan), Morgan, and Elizabeth; great grandchildren Sydney, Lanae, Raelynn, Abilene, Riviera, Clyde, Mila, Turner, Maverick and expecting another great granddaughter in January. She is further survived by sister-in-law Arlyle Ohm, brother-in-law Arnold (Norma) Link, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Link of 48 years; parents; father and mother-in-laws Ernest and Bertha Link; brother Roger Johansen; sister Eileen Hudson; daughters-in–law Kim Link and Esther Link. She is further preceded by four brothers-in-laws, and three sisters-in-law.

The family would like to thank Dove South for Sonja’s rehabilitation and The Neighbor of Dunn County for their service during this past year.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday December 8, 2024 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie, WI with Celebrant Teresa Pejsa officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Salem Iron Creek Cemetery in the Town of Spring Brook, Dunn County, WI.
