SUSAN J. RHEAD \n \n Susan J. Rhead, age 67, of Menomonie, WI passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at her home. \n \n Susan was born June 26, 1943 in Natick Massachusetts to Robert Brown and Ruth (Balsom). She grew up in Lynn, MA and graduated from Lynn English High School in 1961. \n \n Susan married Larry Rhead on December 21, 1963 in Lynn MA, where they lived for 2 years. They then moved back to Wisconsin in 1965, where they have remained since. They had one child. Susan was a nurse in Menomonie for a few years before she opened the Apple Basket Antique Shop in her home. Susan ran the Antique shop for 30+ years before retiring. After retirement Susan spent much of her time focusing on art. She was very creative and produced numerous water color and acrylic paintings along with pastel drawings and fabric design. She also embraced the native American culture, and along with her husband, attended several pow-wow's and native American events. The family enjoyed several summers in Washburn, WI at their cabin. \n \n Susan is survived by; \n Her husband, Larry Rhead of Menomonie \n Daughter, Carrie (Craig) Lecheler of Menomonie \n Grandson, Jack Lecheler of Menomonie \n Sister, Marsha (Kevin) Garry of West Roxbury, Massachusetts \n 3 brothers; Scott (Debbie) Brown of Lynn, Massachusetts \n Tom Brown of Haverhill, Massachusetts \n Robert (Shelly) Brown of San Bernadino, California \n \n She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Ruth Brown and granddaughter Elizabeth Susan Lecheler. \n \n A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie with Pastor John Mikkelson officiating.
